Can you really make money as a hypnotist?

What sort of education or background do you need to get certified?
The best hypnotists are people who have an interest in helping others change their lives. Nurses, teachers, massage therapists, psychologists and doctors all make good hypnotists. Also I’ve known wonderful hypnotists who come  from other back grounds such as stay-at-home moms, computer programmers, lawyers, salespersons, teachers, and my background as a radio broadcaster. The common denominator seems to be the desire to help others and an interest in how the mind can heal the human condition.

Can you give an example of someone who became a successful hypnotist?
YES, Me! I chronicle the story of the growth of my business which I started in my apartment January 1st 2006 in the How to Make Money as a Hypnotist section on this website. I started with my 5-PATH® training, a website, an ad in the phone book, books and research materials and office supplies.
My first year in business I grossed approximately $34,000.00 while working part time. This was as I was learning HOW to use 5-PATH® technique and how to run a business successfully (something I had never done before). In my second year in business I grossed about $74,000.00.

Is there on-going support and help while you are learning?
Yes, 5-PATHERS are a very close-knit community and experienced 5-PATH® hypnotists often reach back to help others. The number one reason any 5-PATH® hypnotist is successful is because of the on-going support that is available. There are materials you can purchase, a message board and an on-line study group. Also, in the planning stages now - a mentorship program for Family First Hypnosis graduates.

What sorts of problems do 5-PATH® hypnotists see and work with?
We work with every day people with every day problems. We do not work with mental illness and we only work with medical conditions if we have a referral from a physician. Some of the clients I have seen recently are for Weight loss, stopping smoking, fear of performing (singer), overcoming emotions due to betrayal by a spouse, habitual sadness, adjusting to life changes including a move and a breakup, overcoming blocks to career success, better concentration, hair pulling, bedwetting, overcoming grief over the passing of a loved one, panic attacks (doctor referred) overcoming anger, and many others. I see up to 20 clients per week Monday through Friday.

How long are the classes? Where are they? How much do they cost?
The classes are held in Plano, TX, a suburb of Dallas, Texas. They run for two weeks Monday through Friday with the weekend off in between. Each class is currently $1995.00. However, the early enrollment discounted price is $1795.  Last minute enrollment is dependent on class size and whether or not study materials or available. 

Is there a governing board or an ethics board for 5-PATH® hypnotists?
Yes.  When getting your certification as a 5-PATH® hypnotist at Dallas Hypnosis Career Training, you’ll also be ready to sit for a test that, once passed will allow you to receive your certification with the National Guild of Hypnotists, the largest and oldest hypnosis organization in the world  founded in 1951. http://www.ngh.net.
