Questions and Answers

Hello!  I’d just like to remind everyone that our goal is to have the best hypnosis training classes in the Univers and beyond.  We are starting out with Dallas hypnosis training, but anyone in the world (if not the Universe LOL!) can attend.  In fact, we have had people from all over the world in our classes, becasue we are centrally located in the United States in Dallas.  So, we offer world wide hypnosis certification.  Check out our upcoming training on this site.

If you have a question about being a hypnotist write to me ,and I’ll be happy to answer it!  Here is one that recently came in.

Question:

I am a massage therapist who works for a doctor.  He is interested in adding hypnosis to his offerings and I want, so I want to learn hypnosis.

Neither the doctor or I have any idea what a fair charge per session would be. Not asking how much you charge, but what is the “going rate”?

And how long do you allow for each session (I know that may alter from one client to the next, but generally speaking)?

You say you do about 20 sessions per week – is that basically 4 per day?

Do you consider that full time?

4 massages per day is certainly full time for me. Now I know a new practice won’t start at “peak” but I need to gather some idea of financial potential.

Singed, Ginny (name and identifying info changed)

Answer:

Thanks Ginny for writing and for allowing me to answer your questions on the Dallas Hypnosis Career Training Website.  Answering questions this way help others to learn too.

What should you charge per session?  The best way to determine price is to find out what therapists are charging in your area and charge in about that range.  My prices are $169 per session and I also offer a 5 session package that saves my clients about $100.  It is $750.

How long do you allow for each session?  Hypnotists doing this work are taught to allow 1 hour and 15 minutes for the sessions booking clients every 1 and ½ hours.  This allows a 15 minute window to go to the bathroom or get a drink of water in between sessions.  When you are just getting started you may want to allow more time and book clients every 2 hours.

I personally like a more relaxed schedule so I see client at 9am, 11am 3pm and 5:30pm.

You say you do about 20 sessions per week.  Is that 4 per day? Yes, I used to do up to 20 sessions per week up until recently.  I decided that I wanted Mondays off.  I use that day to do marketing.  I take weekends off.  Sometimes I’ll see clients on Mondays if I want Friday off or if I feel like helping a client out by seeing them on that day.

Do you consider this full time?  Yes I do, because my business isn’t just doing sessions, but selling, marketing and teaching as well.  My friend Nancy, until recently, was seeing 6 clients per day 5 days per week. She started out that way and loved it.   Now she has a more relaxed schedule.

I hope this answered your questions, Ginny, and I can’t wait to have you in my next class!
