Working from your home is a great way to get started right away for many people, so let’s explore this a bit more. There are ways to work from home no matter how little money you have. I only had about $2000.00, but you could begin with as little as the price of a used recliner, business cards and flyers.

It’s amazing to me how so many people get hypnosis training and then do nothing with it. I have been REALLY thinking about that a lot lately. Each time I hear a news story filled with pain, or when I hear of someone’s desperation in passing conversations, I begin to wonder where all my classmates who trained with me are. Why aren’t they out there helping the world?

One of the things I worried about once I decided to office out of my apartment in Plano, Texas, a suburb of North Dallas, was when should I tell potential clients that I work out of a home office? And, would people actually knock at my door once they realized I worked out of an UPSTAIRS apartment? After all, the complex is older, right across from the dumpster and it is THREE flights up!

When I first started Family First Hypnosis out of my Apartment, my primary goals were to earn enough money doing hypnosis, so that I could pay my share of the bills which would mean that I could stop taking money out of my IRA (I had been living on savings for several years and was down to my last little nest egg, my IRA). I also wanted to never have to work for an employer ever again, especially a radio broadcasting company. Most of all, though, I wanted to really help people change their minds and lives.

Since I last shared this space with you, another VERY exciting thing happened that I wanted to tell you about! The producer for the Kidd Kraddick Radio Show (a very successful high energy syndicatedprogram based here in Dallas) called me and asked me to hypnotize their listeners for weight loss during the morning show! I made sure my mouth said yes before my fear caused me to blubber otherwise. Boy am I glad I did!

Discovered: 2000 Year-Old Guilt Complex
I once got a call from a lady who said she was certain she knew Jesus in another lifetime and it made her sad all the time because he died. She also felt guilty because she hadn’t stopped the crucifixion. She wanted to know what I could do about that.

I’ve been getting a lot of this sort of “anger in relationship stuff” lately. Mostly its women mad at their husbands. I’ve seen several women who have been betrayed by their spouses, in various ways. They feel it is in their best interest to get over it, forgive and stay in the relationship, so for this reason they seek my services. Sometimes they want to stay for “the children” or “monetary reasons” or “he’s a good guy; he just made a mistake”. Recently, I have probably seen about 5 of them.

Somebody named Bob is spread out in my recliner. He is dirty from head to toe. I mean really dirty. I sit a little stunned. He is an abrupt departure from the usual BMW, Mercedes or Porsche-driving well-exfoliated white-collar clientele which I usually attract. A thought wanders in, “He has enough dirt under his fingernails to grow tomatoes.”
